The Isipani Foundation completed a range of refurbishment and infrastructure improvements at Paulus Joubert Primary School as part of its ongoing investment in educational environments. The project focused on upgrading sanitation facilities, improving wheelchair access and refreshing shared spaces to support the daily needs of learners and educators.

The staff bathrooms and shower facilities received extensive upgrades, including replacing existing bathroom troughs with new urinals and installing new washbasins with the necessary plumbing connections. Existing plumbing and drainage systems were serviced and upgraded, while new wall and floor tiles, tiled splashbacks and waterproofing, where required, improved the condition and practicality of the wet areas.

Plaster repairs followed the alterations and plumbing work, and doors and timberwork were repaired, with new handles, locks and a door closer installed where needed. Painting of walls, ceilings, doors and frames completed the refurbishment.

The main learner bathrooms, rear bathrooms, and Grade R facilities also received attention. Toilets, basins and taps were serviced, defective fittings were replaced where required, and plumbing and drainage repairs helped ensure proper operation. These facilities were repainted and thoroughly cleaned on completion.

Existing sanitary fittings and plumbing in the accessible bathroom were also serviced and maintained. Across the bathroom facilities, lighting was attended to through maintenance and the replacement of damaged or defective fittings where needed.

Two new access ramps were constructed at the assembly hall to improve access for wheelchair users. This practical addition helps make an important shared school space more accessible and supports participation in assemblies and school activities.

The learners’ dressing room was refreshed through painting of walls, ceilings, doors and door frames, together with maintenance and replacement of light fittings. External walls at the front of the school were also painted, creating a more welcoming appearance.

Through these improvements, the Isipani Foundation has helped provide more functional, comfortable and accessible school facilities. The completed work supports hygiene, dignity and inclusion while contributing to an environment where learners and educators can focus on teaching and learning.
