iThemba Pre-Primary School

iThemba is a pre-primary school located in Muizenberg that serves the impoverished surrounding community by providing much-needed educare services.

The school required assistance with the refurbishment of its roof, and general repairs and painting. The Isipani Foundation also rebuilt the sandpit to ensure the children could play safely.

“Foundation-phase learning is critical as it lays a solid base for literacy, numeracy, and essential life skills, which are vital for long-term success and breaking the cycle of poverty,” says Isipani Foundation Chairperson, Ray-Ann Sedres. “Education is one of the core focus-pillars for The Isipani Foundation so we are pleased that we were able to assist in ensuring the teachers and children at iThemba Pre-Primary are able to learn in a safe and welcoming environment.”
